Pricing questions
Is Postbag free?
Yes. Free includes 5 forms, 1,000 messages a month, 90 days of history, and attachment support up to 2 MiB each, 3 per Submission and 100 MiB retained. It's a smaller room, not a smaller product.
What happens over the message limit?
We still keep the message, marked as over quota. Once there is room again, you or your agent can release it for sending. Nothing already received is ever dropped — and test messages don't count against you.
Do paid plans unlock product features?
No — that's a promise, not a coincidence. Every plan accepts attachments; paid plans only raise attachment capacity. Team adds seats, an audit log and compliance paperwork, because those only make sense when we're the ones hosting.
Why is Pro $15 a month?
You're paying for the running of it: sending, retries, history, backups, and one less thing on your plate. The product itself is on every plan — and in the open-source repository.
Who handles payment and invoices?
Polar, as the Merchant of Record. They're the seller on the receipt, they work out the tax, and they issue the invoice.
What does self-hosting cost?
Nothing from us, ever — no licence fee, no strings. The server is AGPL-3.0 and the SDK, CLI and MCP server are MIT. You bring the machine, Postgres and S3-compatible attachment storage; the product is the same one we run.
